CHILD & FAMILY GUIDANCE CENTER CONTINUES OFFERING CRITICAL CLINIC BASED AND TELEHEALTH SERVICES

Dallas, TX – Child & Family Guidance Center has served the Dallas community since 1896 and has been strategically prepared to respond to crisis events that have or could affect the patient population we serve. In addition to our clinic based and community based services, the agency has utilized robust telehealth practices since 2016. For the past two years, Child & Family has also provided these services in schools, as well as in individuals' homes. "After introducing these practices, we came to find that the need for these services was increasing and we needed to enhance our delivery methods," said Andy Wolfskill, CEO of Child & Family Guidance Center. The agency's model of deploying qualified mental health professionals to meet clients where they are, literally and figuratively, to facilitate remote delivery of physician services was designed to meet the needs of the clients they serve. The model enables clients to receive quality care, obtain a proper diagnosis, and receive continued treatment without the added stress of worrying about transportation and additional time missed from work. The agency's experience and expertise in this area made for an effortless transition of expanded telehealth services during this public health emergency.

Child & Family strives to treat the whole person with individualized treatment planning and comprehensive care options, and no one is turned away, regardless of their inability to pay. "Our ultimate goal is to empower individuals, strengthen families and communities, and to provide those we serve with the skills and resources necessary to take control of their mental health and emotional well-being," said Wolfskill, "and we recognize this is now more important than ever."

From the initial stages of the COVID-19 outbreak in the US, the agency has been implementing recommended standards of care and response as suggested and outlined by the Center of Disease Control and the World Health Organization. "The safety of our staff and clients is always our first priority. We will continue to screen for symptoms at the entrance of our centers, provide accommodations for individuals in high risk categories, provide all levels of services in the least restrictive and safest formats possible, and strive to ensure the continued health, well-being, and stability of all the patients in the local and rural communities that count on our services,” said Wolfskill.

“The Child & Family Guidance Center team has stepped up to accommodate the enormous need and demand for mental health services at a unique and pivotal time in our community, state, country, and the world. They have done so with courage, commitment, professionalism, and without hesitation. This is what Child & Family has done for nearly 125 years in this community. I could not be more proud and humbled to serve as their CEO,” said Wolfskill.
