Child & Family Guidance Center was honored to be named a beneficiary of the 2019 Crystal Charity Ball, designated to receive over $950,000 to help provide mental health services for children and adults living with mental illness.

The gift will be used to expand the Youth Empowerment Services (YES) Waiver program and to renovate our main building on Harry Hines Boulevard. The YES Waiver program offers intensive mental health services to children and adolescents who suffer with severe emotional disturbances. These children are served by a team of mental health professionals who create an individualized treatment plan that encourages and sustains at-home placement with their families.

The renovation includes creating the YES program wing, updating the lobby and medical records room, and adding a revenue generating on-site pharmacy. This expansion of services and facility improvement will help to serve approximately 4,500 new individuals living with mental illness.

Meredith Casey was Inspired to Create a Comfy-Chic Clothing Line in Honor of Her Brother

Maniac gives 80% of its net profits to charities that support the care, treatment and well-being of those who suffer from mental illness. So many people across the country are affected by mental illnesses of one form or another but sadly, mental health is still an issue that goes largely ignored and underfunded. In fact, you may be surprised to learn that our home state of Texas currently ranks 50th in mental health care spending.

Meredith wanted to do something about it and decided to put her money where her heart is. That’s why she decided to support the Child & Family Guidance Center, to help provide the needed resources to those who cannot afford treatment for themselves.
