Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us! This year marks Child & Family Guidance Center's 125th anniversary of services to the greater Dallas community, and we're grateful to our volunteers, who help us make our community better for those in need! Due to privacy and the specialized nature of our work, most volunteers do not work directly with clients. Please see current volunteer opportunities below.

General Volunteer Opportunities

INDIVIDUAL OPPORTUNITIES
Social Media Volunteer
We are seeking an experienced Social Media Professional to help us tell our story, share our message, and expand our reach across social channels like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube. If you are tech-savvy and creative, with an ability to develop and curate meaningful content and communicate effectively through online channels, we would like to meet you.

Fundraising Volunteer
We are seeking volunteers with experience planning and implementing fundraising activities, including but not limited to: events, online crowdfunding and/or peer-to-peer campaigns; grant writing and research; donor stewardship, renewal, and recognition. If you possess skills in this area – or have other creative fundraising ideas, we would like to meet you. Your work will help ensure more individuals in need of mental and behavioral health support have access to quality, comprehensive care.

Newsletter Editor
We are seeking a talented writer and editor to help with our monthly newsletter that is emailed to thousands of members of our community forum, and those who want to help those living with mental illness. Our goal is to offer information, inspiration, and hope to those who count on us for support.

Turnkey Events

Are you a local business that wants to know how you can give back to the neediest in our community? Child & Family Guidance Center is always looking for business partners to help raise money and awareness for the children, adults, and families we serve. In the past, businesses of all sizes have helped by:
  • Designating one day as “Child & Family Guidance Center” day, and donating a percentage of the sales to Child & Family Guidance Center.
  • Holding an open house at your store or place of business to help raise awareness or donations for Child & Family Guidance Center.
  • Organizing a fundraising event such as a golf or bowling tournament, or walk / swim-a-thon, or a charity luncheon / fashion show.
Child & Family Guidance Center’s fundraising team can help you launch, plan and support your fundraising efforts. We are willing to come to your event, speak about Child & Family Guidance Center programs, and provide literature and brochures. Contact us by clicking the button below for more information.

What our clients are saying ...

"Child & Family Guidance Center has given me life again.  After years of suffering from Major Depression and trying many different medications, Dr. Sodhi has become more than just a psychiatrist.  I feel at home here.  - Sandy

"My son was struggling with grades, attention, and getting along with others.  We didn't know where else to turn and without insurance our options seemed limited.  Dr. Griffin gave us the time and attention necessary to understand our situation and prescribe the appropriate medications.  I have my son back.  - April
