Marie Briner
Marie Briner is a highly experienced family lawyer. Over the past two decades, she has developed expertise in the courtroom as well as the negotiation table.
After earning her law degree from Southern Methodist University Law School (now SMU Dedman School of Law) in 1998, Marie worked in the Dallas County District Attorney’s office. She was promoted to Deputy Chief of the Child Abuse Division, which allowed her to help families through a combination of criminal law and family law situations. She has tried more than 100 cases to verdict, gaining trial experience that is unexcelled by other family law attorneys in Texas. Marie moved to private practice in 2004, becoming an associate at Atkins O’Toole & Briner, LLC and being elevated to partner in 2007. Marie is one of a select few Texas attorneys who are Board Certified in both Family Law and Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. She has been selected one of the Top Lawyers in Dallas under 40 and featured in D Magazine. Marie was honored on the list of Texas Rising Stars. She has also made the list of Texas Super Lawyers.

A business graduate of Texas Tech, she is especially proficient in business valuation and ownership, tax issues, the division of oil and gas interests, IRS Form K-1 partnership distributions and other financial matters.
