Elizabeth McManus Deal
Elizabeth McManus Deal was first introduced to Child & Family Guidance Center in the 1970s, when her mother completed her clinical training here to become a psychologist.
Elizabeth graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1988 with degrees in English and History, and worked professionally as Director of Marketing and Membership for the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas. She has a passion for those who struggle with mental illnesses and their myriad effects on families. Her volunteer experience in the Dallas community has primarily focused in the areas of violence and poverty intervention. Elizabeth’s adult involvement with Child & Family Guidance Center began as a Project Chair Liaison to the Junior League of Dallas in 1999. She recruited her late husband, Steve McManus, who served on the CFGC Board for many years. As Board President, Steve was instrumental in establishing the CFGC South Dallas Clinic, which is named in his memory.
Elizabeth raised two sons in Dallas and now lives with her husband, Lance, at Lake Kiowa where they work in commercial and residential construction. She enjoys travel, hiking, yoga, cooking, music, golf and making jewelry.
